When the holiday promotions hit, and with big box corporations they hit hard, maybe these small companies can't afford to keep up with all the perks their competitors seem to offer. Think, free overnight shipping. . . or free shipping in general!
But there is one thing I see being offered that should be easier on the bottom line for a small businesses to handle. What about layaway? Its been making a comeback in the past few years, and now's the time to start thinking about strategies on how to use this great tool.
Offering customers the ability to make payments ahead of time could especially come in handy for those selling expensive handmade items, or high quality products that people feel on the fence about due to the financial commitment.
